Discussion on the topic “The big pension check” on ORF

It sounds very simple: everyone only gets out of their pension what they have paid in. And: everyone works as long as they want. This proposal by a group of experts for the domestic pension system has caused heated debate - after all, it completely calls the current state system into question. And the latest population forecast also shows that this can no longer work out in the long term. Experts agree and are urgently calling for comprehensive reform. But is this really the philosopher's stone to replace the severely deficient state pension system? Can it work and how much pension will be left for the individual?
On October 14, 2012, EcoAustria Research Director Dr. Ulrich Schuh joined Federal Minister Rudolf Hundstorfer, Therese Niss from Junge Industrie, futurologist Reinhard Popp and student Iris Schwarzenbacher in a discussion on the ORF programme "Im Zentrum" on the topic of "The big pension check - how secure is the state system?".
