EcoAustria an der Columbia University in New York

Tobias Thomas, Director of the economic research institute EcoAustria, is currently conducting research at Columbia University in New York (USA) at the invitation of Anya Schiffrin, Director of the School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), and Nobel Prize winner Joseph E. Stiglitz. "Thinking outside the box is essential for the further development of economic science. I am therefore looking forward to the exchange with the top researchers at Columbia University," says Thomas.

The research stay will focus on current topics such as the influence of the media in democracies, the economics of political reforms and current developments in world trade policy. To this end, meetings will be held with Nobel Prize winner in economics Edmund S. Phelps and political scientist Robert Y. Shapiro.
