This support confirms both the scientific excellence and the social relevance of the Institute's research work and consolidates its position as a key player in economic policy issues.
Inclusion in the OeNB's funding program shows that EcoAustria has quickly established a firm place in the domestic economic research landscape. "This funding is not only a strong signal of the importance of our work, but also clear proof of the trust placed in the quality and relevance of our research. It is an incentive for us to continue to deepen our analyses and recommendations on central economic policy issues in Austria at the highest scientific level and thus make a valuable contribution to shaping sustainable and evidence-based economic policy in Austria," emphasizes EcoAustria Director Monika Köppl-Turyna.
The OeNB's funding program aims to ensure the quality and independence of economic analyses that serve as a basis for evidence-based policy decisions. For the funding period 2025 - 2027, the OeNB is providing a total budget of 4.75 million euros for a total of five Austrian economic research institutes.
The funding was awarded in a multi-stage evaluation process based on a clearly defined set of criteria. The focus was on the scientific quality and application orientation of the submitted projects as well as the independence of the research and its benefit as a public good
