At a joint meeting in March 2013, some of the supporters of the call for pension reform as well as other interested parties and experts discussed the issue. The lively debate focused on the latest reform initiatives in statutory pension insurance.
Prof. Stefanits and his team from the Federal Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and Consumer Protection spoke on the topics of "Strengthening financial sustainability in statutory pension insurance" and "Reforms in the area of disability pensions".
The presentations were commented on by Dr. Markus Knell (co-supporter of the initiative and Hannes Androsch Prize winner) and EcoAustria Research Director Dr. Ulrich Schuh, thus supporting the further exchange of ideas among the discussion participants.
