Panel discussion – European competitiveness

On February 17, 2025, a high-profile panel discussion on the topic of "European Competitiveness" took place at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. The event was jointly organized by EcoAustria, the Department of Economics at WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) and Uniwersytet Warszawski / University of Warsaw and brought together experts from science, politics and business.
The panelists highlighted current economic policy developments and provided ideas on how Europe can strengthen its position in international competition. Particular emphasis was placed on the need for closer cooperation within the EU in order to position itself more independently of the USA, stabilize the financial situation and find common paths to economic recovery. Poland in particular was highlighted as a pioneer for a forward-looking economic policy.
The event was met with great interest: Numerous students, academics and representatives from business and politics took the opportunity to discuss the current challenges and opportunities for Europe as a business location.
