Refugee migration to Austria increases employment, particularly in the low-skilled sector. However, this increase is not strong enough to prevent an increase in unemployment, especially among refugees and to a lesser extent among resident low-skilled workers. The results of the analysis of refugee migration to Austria were presented by EcoAustria researchers Johannes Berger and Ludwig Strohner at the Turkish Migration Conference in July 2016 and have now been published in the scientific journal Border Crossing.
