TV discussion on the topic “‘Pensions are safe’ – dream or reality?”

Experts never tire of emphasizing that when the baby boomer generation retires, the Austrian pension system will reach its limits. What have the previous reforms achieved? Do we need new incentives to keep people in work for longer? Will future generations of pensioners have to make do with significantly less income?

On February 28, 2016, on the eve of the pension summit convened by the government, Ingrid Thurnher hosted a discussion on the ORF programme "Im Zentrum" with Ulrich Schuh (Head of Research), Karl Blecha (President of the Austrian Pensioners' Association, SPÖ), Claudia Gamon (Member of the National Council, Neos), Irene Kloimüller (doctor and psychotherapist) and Josef Wöss (Head of the Social Policy Department, Vienna Chamber of Labour).
