Mag. Nikolaus Graf

Mag. Nikolaus Graf is Head of the Competitiveness Research Section at EcoAustria. His research focus is on economic and institutional issues concerning the quality of business locations and the efficiency of public expenditures, e.g. in terms of education, health, care and public administration.

Graf studied Political Science and Communication Science at the University of Vienna. From 2002 to 2011, he worked in the Applied Research Section at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS).

Nikolaus Graf developed various national and international location rankings. Moreover, his research focusses on regulations of product markets, the service sector, as well as empirical labour market analyses. Furthermore, he is interested in the institutional setting of active labour market policies and its effects on structural unemployment.
